GiveWellTop Charities Fund
When you claim a spot, you're sent to Every.org's own donation page for the fund. You pay there, and Every.org, a registered US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, passes the donation on. Once it's confirmed, Every.org tells The Throne, and your name and message go up.
Why GiveWell's Top Charities Fund
GiveWell is an independent nonprofit that researches charities in depth to find where a donation does the most good. Their Top Charities Fund pools donations and grants them to the programs they rate highest, which have included:
- insecticide-treated bed nets that prevent malaria
- seasonal malaria medicine for young children
- vitamin A supplements for children
- cash incentives for routine childhood vaccinations
GiveWell estimates these programs save a life for roughly $3,000 to $5,500.
