What We Collect
When you donate: the name, @handle or website you enter, your message and the amount. You pay on Every.org's own page, so we never see or store your card details.
If you enter a website: our server visits it once to read its page title, which is shown next to your entry.
Automatically: page views and clicks on links to other sites, counted with Plausible. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
What's Public
Your name, @handle or website, your message and the amount are shown publicly on the site and in the Hall of Thrones. Don't put your real name if you don't want it public.
Services Involved
- Every.org processes your donation and has its own privacy policy.
- unavatar.io supplies X profile pictures. Your browser loads them from there as you type an @handle, and again whenever you view a page showing one. Because your browser fetches the picture itself, unavatar.io sees your IP address and the handle. This happens while you type, so it happens even if you never finish donating.
- Google supplies website icons the same way, and sees your IP address and the domain you entered.
- Plausible counts visits, as described above.
What We Don't Do
- Sell your data
- Send marketing emails
- Track you across the web
Data Retention
Donations are kept forever (they're the historical record). If you want your name changed to "Anonymous" after the fact, message us.
